Ofsted, SIAMS and Assessment Reports

Freshford School was last inspected by OFSTED in November 2017.

“The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school
since the previous inspection. Your vision for the school is ambitious and effective.
You lead by example and your work is highly valued by staff, governors and
parents. You demonstrate commitment and resolve and hold high expectations for
teaching and outcomes for pupils. You respond quickly and effectively when issues
arise and, together with the leadership team, bring about sustained improvements
when required. As a result, pupils achieve well”.

“Governors hold school leaders to account for pupils’ achievement. They use their
understanding of school performance data and their own monitoring to challenge
leaders on the impact their actions are having. Leaders and governors
demonstrate strong capacity to drive further school improvement”.

Our most recent SIAMS Church Inspection was carried out on 4th July 2019

The school’s Christian vision : “Together we aspire, achieve and celebrate. The vision is based on Jesus saying in the Bible verse – ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ John 10:10”.

“Pupils, especially those most vulnerable, benefit from school being a safe and happy place in which to develop a love of learning in a spirit of kindness, forgiveness and friendship”.

“Religious education (RE) enables all pupils to flourish. It offers a safe place to reflect on their views and to respect the views of others.”

“Pupils research and propose most charities that the school supports. Pupils know that they are agents of change because they are able to live this at school. Pupils attribute their charitable activities to the school’s vision and that they are, ‘Trying to follow in Jesus’ footsteps’ as one pupil said. There is an awareness of global concerns such as poverty and injustice”
