St. Peter's Church

As a church school and a member of the Diocese of Bath and Wells Multi-Academy Trust, we enjoy close links with St. Peter’s Church, Freshford, where we celebrate the major Christian festivals of Harvest, Christmas and Easter and say farewell to our Yr. 6 children at our annual Leavers’ Service.

St Peter’s is our village church, one of three churches in our Parish of Freshford, Limpley Stoke and Hinton Charterhouse. The Rector, Mike Taylor, is the Priest-in-Charge.

The Rector also serves on the school’s Local Governing Body, alongside his church warden, Kathy Tucker whose children all came through Freshford Church School and who has supported the school as a governor for many years.

‘Vicar Mike’ as he is known to our children, leads weekly collective worship assemblies at school for KS2 and KS1/EYFS and with the support of his parishioners, offers regular ‘Open the Book’ assemblies, featuring interactive and dramatic explorations of Bible stories.

The school also works closely with the Diocesan Education team based at Wells in Somerset.

Dear God,
Let the water run with an abundance of fish, let the grass sway, dew drenched and luscious, let the clouds skip across the blue bird skies, let the mountains be snow peaked and silent, let the cool woods and forests run with wildlife, let the sun beat down on the desert, let the rich squawking rain forests burst with life and colour and let the coral reefs be swarmed with flamboyant fish and peaceful turtles. Amen ( Lucy)
