Admissions to our school

Admissions to Freshford Church School

On 1st April 2018, Freshford VC Primary School converted to Academy status and became known as Freshford Church School, joining the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust. The Board of Trustees is now our school’s admissions authority, with delegated powers being given to the Admissions Committee of the Local Governing Board. This committee meets at least six times a year to consider in year applications and review class and year group sizes.

We are always happy to welcome families who are looking for a school for their child and fully appreciate that this is one of the most important decisions you will make. We enjoy meeting you and sharing with you the ethos of our school.

We hold two Open Mornings during the year, dates of which are shown on the website as soon as they are known. You will have the opportunity of seeing the school during a typical working morning and our Yr. 6 children will take you on a personal guided tour. Andrew Wishart, Headteacher, will then explain more about our philosophy and how our approach to education has evolved. Please note that our recent open mornings have not included a tour of the school due to Covid 19 restrictions and currently our scheduled October 2021 open morning is forecast to be similarly restricted.

Should you live in another county any application for a Reception place has to be made via your home Admissions Authority.
