Freshford roboteers romp home at the First Lego League Competition

Congratulations to our young roboteers who brought back 3 trophies from
the First LEGO League competition.

The competition is broken into 4 sections : robot performance, robot design, research project and core values (such as teamwork). Our two teams have been working hard on
all sections at their after school club since September.

At the competition our Year 5 team won the robot performance section,
holding their nerve during the intense 2.5 minute runs and consistently
scoring the most points on the competition table. Their team was also
awarded the Runners Up trophy in the Robot Design section.

The Year 6 team reached the semi-finals in the performance section and
also scored so highly in all of the other three sections that they
brought home the overall runners up Champions Trophy too!

Well done to all – and many thanks to the many parents who have helped out
with the club too.

Particular thanks must go to Clive Seager, who continues to spearhead this activity with such enthusiasm and knowledge, and to Charles Malir and Dan Towner for their invaluable support.
