FIRST Lego League Robotics Challenge 2018

FIRST Lego League Robotics Challenge 2018

FIRST Lego League : Thursday 18th January 2018, Hewlett-Packard, Bristol

Huge congratulations to our young Yr. 5/6 engineers who came home with three trophies from the FIRST Lego League competition held in Bristol last Thursday.

The children had to work hard as a team all day, competing in four sections:

- Lego Robot Design
- Most Robot Missions completed in 2.5 minute run
- Core Values (team work, respect, co-operation, etc.)
- Water Project & Presentation

Our Yr. 5 team were runners up in the Robot Design category and came eight in the Robot Missions, which is a great result for a rookie team.

Our Yr. 6 team were runners up in the Robot Missions section and, having been scored so highly in each of the four individual sections, they were also crowned overall winners of the competition.

A tremendous achievement for both teams who have been so motivated and worked so hard this year.

Thanks must be extended to Clive and Charles, for their time, enthusiasm and guidance on the Lego Robots front and to Jo, Sophie, Rosie and Abers for their invaluable help on the project / presentation.

A very well deserved result and as regional winners our team are now off to compete in the National competition in February. We wish them every luck.
