Freshford children past, present and future shine in Freckles - the musical!

Since Mel Lawman from the Royal High School Bath first visited our juniors and auditioned children to appear in her new venture Freckles – the musical, this show has gone from strength to strength. From its first production at the Royal High School, through to the Edinburgh Fringe, the profile of this musical, based on Anne of Green Gables, has continued to rise.

Members of the cast were honoured to be invited to participate in a masterclass with the great composter Claude-Michel Schonberg, who co-wrote the screenplay and re-conceived the music for the film of Les Misérables.

This is great achievement for both Mel Lawman and all who contributed to this stunning work. Mel’s next outing of Freckles is on Friday 2nd June at St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden.

Freshford children, both past and present, will be performing in the musical in June. We are so delighted that Mel agreed to come to Freshford when she was first conceiving her idea of a musical based on such a much loved children’s book.
